SunRotor 4.8 GPM Starter System

Helical Rotor Submersible Pump & SCT-M100T 24-48 VDC Controller
Manufacturer Part Number: SR-4 COMBO

This SR-4 basic system is perfect for someone who wishes to purchase their system and find their own well driller / pump installer. All necessary components for the pump installation are included with this basic system.

Most days have 4-6 hours of pumping quality sun. Once you determine your daily water requirement, divide that number by 300 to determine the gallons/minute (or liters/minute) required to pump at least that total amount of water daily.

Applications

  • Remote villages, homes, cabins and hunting lodges
  • Irrigation for remote orchards, gardens, and greenhouses
  • Wildlife watering at wild game parks and farms
  • Fish pond water level maintenance and aeration
  • Swimming pool circulation and filtration pumps
  • Surface water pumping for landscaping streams and waterfalls
  • Cattle / livestock watering systems

Components

  • Solar panels (modules) – This is your power source. They will generate DC (direct current) power.
  • Solar module mounting rack – This is where you affix your solar modules and then set them atop your mounting pole.
  • Water Pipe – The water you pump travels through this pipe to your water storage tank or pond.
  • Well seal assembly – This will form a seal to keep contaminants out of the well casing. It also has all the necessary fittings for all wire and conduit used.
  • Low water sensor – Will turn the pumping system off before running out of water.
  • Submersible pump – SunRotor pumps can be set up to 100 feet under the water in a well. Our pumps feature a vegetable oil filled, brushless DC powered motor.
  • Conduit and wiring from controller to well seal – These will connect the controller to the well seal, and then the well seal to the pump itself.
  • Wiring harness from solar modules to controller – These wires will connect your power source to the controller.
  • Controller – This DC input electronic device uses the electricity generated by the panels and communicates with the submersible pump.
  • Storage Tank – This is where the water you pump is stored. An elevated water tank can provide sufficient gravity pressure to provide adequate PSI for a domestic dwelling.

Detailed Description

As configured, this system will pump approximately 4.8 gallons/minute (18.0 liters/minute) at 50 feet (15 m) or 2.5 gallons/minute (9.4 liters/minute) at 125 feet (38 m). With most places enjoying 4-6 hours of peak sun pumping time, this basic setup will pump 1,150 - 1,750 gallons/day at 50 feet (15 m), or 600-900 gallons/day at 125 feet (38 m).
